This is based on my own research as well as corrosponding with a couple of guys on pprune.com that fly there. I also applied through HACS and they sent me the contract terms, so take it for what it's worth.
Two companies do the contract for them, PARC Aviation and Hawaii Aviation (HACS). Parc requires the 74 type, HACS does not. Parc pays more but doesn't make a contribution to a retirment account for you. Schedules are different for each base. Each domicile apparently operates like it's own little airline.
Schedules can vary but the average is 2 week on 2 week off. The 2 weeks may not always be 2 weeks from home. HACS gives a commuting allowance, a small one, $300 a month be plane, $50 if you drive. Upgrade is 3-4 years. Contract term is 3.5 years. Guys have been there over 10.
Pay, HACS is $7500 a month based on 65hrs. 116 per hr after that. I've heard that PARC pays closer to $10,000 a month. I've also heard that Parc does not pay any health care insurance, it's your problem.
Training at HACS is 7 months if you are not typed on the 74. Also, you must currently have a type rating on a commercial jet to even apply. It has to do with the JCAB and getting your tickets converted over to the Japanese ones.
Go to Hawaiiaviation.com and fill out the online resume. They will mail you the application as well as the contract terms. What's the worst that can happen? They migh actaually call you for interview?
From the guy I was exchanging with on pprune, yes. It's done in a "quasi-senority system". Whatever that meant. NCA was spun off from ANA or whatever and means expansion for them. He told me they are going to need around 100 pilots this year to staff it.
