Anyone know of anyplace That Will Hire Low Time Pilots 600 hours In Oregon Or Washington Min $2,000 A Month Salary Needed. I enjoy Ferrying airplanes but Wife is starting to not like me gone for a week or two at a time. She understands that it's a good way to build much needed time & experience I just would like to make her a little bit happier. I don’t mind ferrying i enjoy it a lot because it's so much fun and it's always some place different.

When I lived there I never heard of anyone with your flight time getting that lucky. I'd recommend a trip to HIO and a visit the folks at Hillsboro Aviation. They are a great FBO to work for with lots of students. Teach there for a year and you'll be at Part 135 mins. If you still need to stay in the area, go over to Ameriflight. They're always looking for pilots at the PDX base. Good luck.

Hillsboro Aviation, No thanks!!! I would rather work fast food. I am also putting in more hours Ferrying Airplanes than Most the CFI's around here. Just looking to please the wife before she stops thinking she doesn’t have a husband anymore and starts calling the cops on me when I walk in at 3am after being gone for 2 weeks. I would settle for most anything local even though the ferry business is picking up a bit. I am usually not one to work for someone else. I have been self employed & work from my home for about 12 years So it’s kind of a big transition. There is nothing like making your own work and having it run like a well oiled machine!

Sounds like as bad as it could be you might be set as good as you can get. Not sure about any banner towing the only ones that I know of are basicaly privately owned one person things. The only other thing I can think of is to start talking to people who have their own corporation personal planes and see if you can start to ride along with them or look into one of the very few dropzones around. If you want to be home more stability might have to look at CFIing but even then 2K/month might be pushing it, definately know that jumpers won't pay that though.

I'd be really interested to find out what you end up doing. It appears your choices are very limited, especially considering you don't want to work for anyone but yourself.

I did not say that I don't want to work for anyone but myself. I said "I am usually not one to work for someone else. I have been self employed & work from my home for about 12 years So it’s kind of a big transition."

Just curious what's so bad about Hillsboro?

The way they treated me as a customer in the past. The Last time I was there was about a month and a half ago I Flew in with my 150 with wad cash in hand to put down on some multi engine training. Their admissions customer service dose seem to be getting better but still trying to push some things on me I did not want & then started to play car dealership tactics with me and would not give me simple straight answers about the airplane times etc. I can just imagine how they treat their employees & flight instructors. Only thing they do have going for them is they do have nice facilities & good airplanes. Any Hillsboro Employees on here care to chime in on how they are treated to help sway my opinion?

Oh! They did not get the wad of cash The place "Multi Engine Ratings" in Arlington, TX received some of it, along with my total satisfaction, respect, and my future business.

Yeah....You should have no problem at all making 2000/month towing banners in Portland....especially with the sweet weather this time of year.

I taught at Hillsboro Aviation and have nothing bad to say, I was treated well and there was never a shortage of students....who did you talk to at HIO? Was it Wayne Moore?
