I can think of worse. Could be DHN or DSM or TUL.

are you allowed to commute out the morning of the 31st and back the evening of the 1st?
PS I sure hope you have a good duty rig or else some sick time available for that. I think that trip deserves a steaming pile award.

No, we don't have any rigs.

They completely suck!!!
Whoever does this planning thing for scheds needs to come fly these sorry as hell scheds.

I'm am not backing the company, but the head planner KW is an ATR pilot. He knows what it is like, he is making the best of what Delta gives him.
At least its not Willy.

Didn't you get the memo? There's somebody new in charge now. It's my understanding KW left the company.

there are some places I'd like to have a 55 hour layover, but not if it's not rigged. XJT has a 15-hour 4-day minimum regardless of schedule . . . you dont' have anything similar?

No, not under the current contract.
Under the contract we are still negotiating, I believe will get 4:10 daily minimum. (i believe this section has been T/A'd)

pardon me while I go over to my Jump to Conclusions mat.

There are much worse places to be:

Ski:
Jay Peak
Killington
Mont Tremblant

Drink:
Magic Hat Brewery

Girls:
UVM
St. Michaels College.

I'd love to have that overnight. Go have fun.

That's what I'm talking about. Don't forget about Smugglers Notch. You could get two solid days at the slopes with plenty of time to chase tail inbetween. I know it's hard for some people, but make the best out of your layover in a winter vacation area and have fun.

KW was not our friend!

He was a pilot but not a line pilot.

He was a line pilot. Kind of hard to be a line pilot and crew planning manager at the same time. But if that was the case I'm sure ASA only paid him to do one job. I thought he did a great job. That's probably why he's gone.

I had heard he had his pilots license but was not a paid pilot at ASA. I may have heard that wrong. I thought he did a pretty good job. The pairings were good in that they all dutied in and out at decent times(duty in around 10-12 and done by 2-4 on the last day). However, the total jumble of pairings on every single line makes commuting tough. The January lines are the worst I've seen in a long time.

KW used to fly the line many moons ago. I've flown with him a few times. Some sort of Civil Engineering position opened up a few years ago and he jumped on it. I think his degree was in something like that. He'd grab a trip now and then to stay current (still only paid his GO salary). He had only been in crew planning the last year though...before that it was something different in the GO.

I agree. Less days off and the trips are scattered all over the place. There are even 4 day pairings where one of the 4 day trips are back to back naps.

Three day trips backed up to naps? Front side of the clock right into back side of the clock and holy four days BatMan. ....

How do we get this chick booted? Is this something to make us cry for Pref. Bid?

Seriously, this new Crew Planner has to go to some other opportunity, or spend more time with her family. How do we accomplish the mission?

i met her once and she (karen) is a good person - kevin worked his but off and would of flown more but he was under too much pressure

i spoke to him before he left - not surprised he went - he was not a fan of jack who runs crew resources - kevin was not allowed to offer raises, get better people - at least thats what i took away

kevin was a good guy and his leaving is not a good sign for asa finding and keeping talent

I will back up the KW is a great guy with an open mind and a smart one too.

Georgia Tech grad.

Yes he was at a minimum, Comm Inst., not sure if he has an ATP.

Also, a CFI for a brief time.

How many of you guys who complain about the lines think that if you were in the position he was, that you could satisfy more than 75% of the pilot group?

I'd challenge you to apply for the position.

Delta no longer does schedules the way they did 1.5 yrs ago and back. ASA is at the mercy of Delta Marketing dweebs, who love to make last minute changes for us.

All I can say to the costant scheduling whiners is, Life is not fair, and Seniority is a B!tch.

How about some cheese with the Whine?
