DAC GEN-X EFB STC granted to ABX Air for B767Aircraft

Austin, Texas (May 6, 2008) - ABX Air, a leading cargo airline based in Wilmington, Ohio, has been granted a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) to allow the installation of the DAC International GEN-X Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) on B767 aircraft. The STC paves the way for B767 operators to efficiently install the GEN-X EFB as a Class 2 device on their aircraft. GEN-X answers the airlines need for an affordable avionics grade EFB that meets both Class 2 and Class 3 requirements. Until GEN-X, operators had to choose between expensive Class 3 EFB’s or less capable Class 2 EFB’s. GEN-X bridges the gap by offering an affordable Class 3 EFB solution that can be installed as either Class 2 or Class 3.

Michael Crouch, DAC International President, noted “ We are pleased that ABX Air, an industry leader in innovation, has selected the GEN-X Class 2/3 EFB for its B767 fleet. We look forward to working with ABX Air as it continues to add functionality to the GEN-X platform to further streamline operations and enhance efficiencies." ABX Air (www.abxair.com) is an air cargo services provider operating out of Wilmington, Ohio, and 15 hubs throughout the United States. In addition to providing airlift capacity and sort facility staffing to DHL, ABX Air is a Part 121 operator and holds a Part 145 FAA Repair certificate. It provides charter, maintenance and package handling services to a diverse group of customers.

Don't forget the mighty YS-11! They remembered the ones they left in Florida are still painted in Airborne colors, so they should be coming back up north in the next few weeks.

a little paranoid

Does everyone that doesn't kneel at the mention of ABXA work for Astar? Some are holding on a little too tight!

At least we are doing something to improve. What has ASTAR done... How is that re-fleet coming along?

Ahhhhh I think he works for you guys.

Now step away from the key board and turn the little dial for the meds drip that will take you to your happy place.

OK, lets see here. Someone post a news release about a new mod that has been approved for ABX (good news). A pilot from ABX injects some sarcasm about the press release (a little humor) then a dispacher (with an anger managment issue) from ABX attempts to turn this into a Astar bashing thread.

It's ALWAYS an anger management issue with you R&W. What's with that, a judge order you to classes in your past or something?

Hmmmmm??? Let me see;
2 engine DC-8??
Next big push Day Flying??
Acars???
ADBS???
GPS?? (dc-9)
Cargo Doors for 767 pc's???
Electronic Flight Bag??
New Management that wants to move in a positive direction with the flightcrews.
I'm sure there is a few more in there.
Don't hold your breath.

And why throw Astar into the mix this has nothing to do with them?? Sometimes, can't you leave well enough alone?
Still Waiting

The point is Wicked, that abxdx did an Astar jab. I suppose that he thought Hvydc8 was one of us, when he is in fact an ABX pilot. To that point, none of us were making comment on this thread, because it had nothing to do with us.

What I was trying to say was" This post has nothing to with Astar but somebody always wants to throw crap in the pot whether its ABX or Astar"

ABX/Airborne Express is notorious for making announcements and not following up on them
Oh Well,

*ding*ding*ding* we have a winner.

You are right that "someone always throws something in the pot whether it's ABX or Astar". And abxdx had a knee-jerk reaction since the pendulum do swing. Some that posted in this thread have done the exact same thing. I think he now knows it was an ABX post and not a slam from the other side.

My Bad!

OK I made a mistake... it happens sometimes, I am willing to admit it. Sorry for jumping all over Astar on that one. I will go to the corner and hang my head in shame.

See Astar boys and girls this is how you own up to a mistaken post.... You might want to refer to it next time you post total B.S.

Thanks Chimchim, maybe you can get Trixxy to do it too. LOL

Trixxy (cute....I think I like it) has no reason to apologize. Therefore, you will NOT be getting an apology from me anytime soon (meaning never). I stand by my original post. :)
