Hopefully this signals the beginning of change for the better. There's a lot of things AT does well, procedurally speaking, the SWA powers that be could possibly adopt. Any procedure or policy change that makes life easier for pilots is a win for all of us.

Let's do it!

New SWA chief of training, a good thing?

Far from running the Training Center but a welcome addition nonetheless. Steve Vaught is the Senior Director of Training, Procedures, and Standards. and Greg will be a Senior Manager of Training, working under Kirk Menard who is Director of Training.

Why would you need a Director AND a Senior Director? SWA would probably save millions by trimming redundant management positions throughout the company.

Did you see Steve Vaught handles Training, Procedures, and Standards?

Kirk is responsible only for the Training Center.

Greg will work for Kirk at the Training Center.

Their titles may sound similar, but their workload is different.

Because that's the new and improved SWA! We have VPs for everything from toilet paper ply counter to the vp of light switch operation...yet the omnipotent Mike VdV says we "cost" too much...yeah....

Amazing! This is the first thread I have seen where SWA guys are actually critical of their own operation. I am an outsider, but it seems like every post I have read from a SWA pilot has been nothing but rainbows and unicorns regarding their ops. Just an observation. Good to see there are open minds.

Now that's funny

You need to remove this post before SWA gets a VP of redundant.

More I think about it, leave it , I am send in my resume for that job :)

TWICE now, I said the system sounds good.

Read the thread.

It is a good system. I also read the thread. My question remains the same.

Have you ever seen a FL pull over to wait for numbers? To make it easy on you, you can respond with a "yes" or a "no".

Too late, already submitted mine! Interview scheduled for Friday. Seems the job consists of echoing everything anyone else says or does. My first point of order... Re-issuing every bulletin from the past 2 years, but attaching my name to them. I figure you pilots are lazy by nature, and forcing you to re-read 200 bulletins again, (cleverly disguising them as "new") will result in serious redundant productivity. I can see my bonus soaring as I type. Wish me luck!
