Pretty cool. I heard a rumor that netjets would be interested in buying them, and that Warren Buffet has offered a large bonus to whoever can get it certified for domestic travel.

Interesting stuff. I think engines are still a problem. It may happen, but not soon.

There are two projects going on - the QSST/SAI one you referenced, and the Aerion, which is using a possibly lower risk design (although not capable of low-boom supersonic flight overland). The Aerion one uses JT8D-219 engines(!).
