Just stumbled across another startup in LAX with 747-400s, Deluxe Airways...senior mgmt ex-DAL/PAA, and UAL, pax & cargo... www.deluxeairways.com

So, how many is that so far ?

· Provide superior in-flight service and amenities

· Offer comfortable flying at a cost that is at or below current fares of competitors

Really? I didn't realize those two mission statements could go together.

I don't see much startup experience with the senior people. It'll be interesting to see if the large orgainization experience they have will translate well to a startup venture.

Sure they can, they just use illegal immigrants for flight crew to keep the labor cost low....they come with guaranteed health coverage from the U.S. government and they work cheap!

What a stupid name...Deluxe Airways. Let's startup another called Acme. Then again, I thought jetBlue was as stupid name, but it sure has caught on. I still think Ted and Song are stupid.

Well, not being a business type and admitting absolutely no understanding of finances beyond balancing my checkbook, the first question that comes to my little mind is...who gives these startups the huge sums of money it takes to get up and running. Considering the state of the airline biz, is this a wise place to put large sums of investor money ?

Obviously, there's more going on here than I can comprehend.

I know Britt Williams and he had a strong "operational" career at Pan Am before going over to Delta. Can't imagine any of these guys runing the business end of airline, and I did not see anyone in the group that would make me think that they were real business guys. When the FAA CSAT team gets a hold of them that 5 to 6 month certifiaction process will turn into 2+ years if they are lucky. Whish them luck, but would not give a nickle for their chances.

Wtf

Is little Britt trying his hand at the airlines again??? :D

Based on your avitar I can't imagine you having any knowledge of this man. Is he your father, or are you just being a smart ass?

Another odd thing. No listing for a Chief Financial Officer.

Settle down there tiger!

That original post of mine was making absolutely no reference to THE Britt Williams.

What I was referring to was the 15 year old kid that was "starting up" an airline earlier this year, and was posting job openings on the internet! The name of it was BRITT AIR. He started posting on here, and needless to say he got beat to death pretty good, and his website subsequently disappeared off the internet shortly thereafter!

They were advertising for a couple of top-level managment postions on climbto350.com...that's what caught my attention and led me to their website.

Why need a CFO, when they have no "real" funding .... all they have is pocket change.

Like i said to someone, Using a 747-400 is a bad move for a start up.
