I believe that several of the inside guys expressed more than a passing interest in the job. Trouble is, that to be an inside guy at ABX requires a singular willingness to throw integrity aside and step on others to ascend the slippery pole. Which inside guy had the character or talent to fill the post? I can't think of one, although the return of Z from the regionals would have been palatable.

Yes and none.

In his years at ATA, I never saw zero leadership on his part. He was however quite willing to get rid of people who actually could lead, had integrity, and did know what they were doing (because they made him look like the zero he is).

You'd be better off with a night manager from the local McDonalds. I truly have no idea what John was thinking when he hired him.
