Anyone heard what the new schedule change is going to bring about?

Can anyone put truth to the myth that the Delta deal is moving forward? I heard that the mechanics are back down in Myrtle Beach looking at the Do-328 jets. Also heard that some are C-check done and ready go and that others are still a paperwork nightmare.

Also another rumor I heard from someone at Midwest...... skyway in Kansas City to replace the US Air express?

more rumors than pilots!

Supposedly, Midwest is going to increase aircraft utilization which will include increased weekend flying. How that affects us at Skyway remains to be seen. Additionally, there's a rumor Midwest is supposed to recall 40 pilots by Dec '05 (see posting in Furloughed section).

Been hearing that rumor since mid-last year. Time will tell whether or not we finalize an agreement with Delta. There are many rumors right now but I suspect we "might" know either way probably in March (provided we start Delta flying May 1st).

Supposedly, Midwest has/is going to cancel their agreement with Air Midwest (Mesa) in MCI and that flying will be done by Skyway. That's been a rumor for awhile too but nothing official has been announced.

Time will tell what happens with everything. It's going to be an interesting year at Midwest and Skyway.

Peace

Know nothing about Skyway internal matters, but I might be able to shed a drop of light on the Air Midwest issue...

I know for a fact that Mesa is drastically downsizing the Air Midwest operation. To the best of my knowledge, Mesa has (or is in the process) of eliminating ALL non-EAS flying. I was pulled out of CRJ new-hire class due to these displacements, so I know its definitely going on. Might add some truth to the rumor you heard.

BTW any hiring going on at Skyway?

Was there some sort of official announcement about a change in scheduling, or is that rumor too?

No, still have about 20 on furlough from the Beech class last November.

Nothing "official" but I suspect we'll know more in March/April.

I was reading the yx net and there is an article on the "what's new" about the discontinued markets in Kansas City that has a link that doesn't work about the deal with Air Midwest.

AN FO from M.E. said they would be short staffed when all the 17's show up and the schedules become more effiecient. He also said what you heard about only 40 left on furlough.

I ran into an interesting gentleman who used to work for Fairchild in the US. He had intimate knowledge of the details of both the ACA and SkyWat 328Jet accounts. From what I recall of the conversation, Mother Delta is in the process of doing acquisiton inspections or something of the like. He said they're doing "thorough" inspections :) When I asked hiim about the SkyWay rumor, he said it is neither dead nor alive, and it all depends on what happens when Delta gets done with their inspections. I"m not up on that business end of things, so if I got some terminology mixed up, my apologies.

to add Rumors to the mill about Mama Midwest:

Midwest might have a major schedule upheavel (sp?) in April. If this is concurrent with what SF said about weekend flying then so be it. I have no idea but it makes sense.

Also had a mainline pilot tell me when I asked about the future of the 80's that a 757 can be operated for the same cost.

DISCLAIMER this is just a line pilot I was talking with as I walked into OPS.
********PLease don't go out and buy 757 study guides!!!!!!******

Rumors about Skyway. We have an ALPA meeting (regularly) scheduled for this wednesday. At the meeting info may or may not come out about the deal, our future, midwest etc. If it does come out maybe someone will disseminate it here since I will not.
Just adding fuel to thefire

heard that we are going to start flying more on the weekends, and they are going to start adding more frequency to certain markets.

Also heard that we are going out to Kansas City to fill the void that was left by Midwest's agreement with Air Midwest being over.

Just rumor though. Meeting with the boss on the third so maybe we will all know something...sooner than later

Just announced today Midwest is expanding service all over the network. The only Skyway increase is an extra Nashville, and Pittsburgh flight a day.

I hope more to come

Is this going to speed up Midwest recalls?
