Anyone landed on the new runway in Houston (IAH)? Well, landing is not the problem...try the read-back of the taxi instructions: "exit at foxtrot-golf, left on foxtrot-alpha, foxtrot hotel, echo-alpha, echo-echo, november-bravo, hold short of sierra-foxtrot, say parking." Is that a mouth-full or what? Taxi fast guys, it's gonna take you 20 minutes to get to the gate.

Forget the readback, just know that they're sending you on a Great Circle route to the gate via the east cargo ramp. Landing west on 26R is the worst!!! Holy crap, that's the longest taxi I've ever seen...

IAH sucks.

Yeah I've found I had to adjust my PA's to say that while we'll get the people on the ground five minutes early, they can expect to arrive at the gate 15 minutes late. Is it really that hard to have people cross 8R between arrivals or are the ATC folk that d*mn lazy? On the other hand it is great for pocketing some extra overtime, unless you got a commute to catch. I suppose it's only a matter of time before FOQA reports will be coming out about unsafe taxi speeds in IAH.

Don't worry, they'll probably close it down soon. The highly affluent residents just off the ends of the runway are complaining to the news media.

I guess it really resonates inside those double wides. :D Maybe the city will buy polyester curtains for them...........;)

billboards

I heard they were gonna put up a billboard reading "Only 4 more miles to Harlon's BBQ" on taxiway FA.
I hope we get retro on the overs per leg!!!!!

I never really understood why people buy houses near an airport, then complain about noise!

Because most people are pretty much dumbasses.

(Not a joke ... )
