Below is a paraphrased excerpt from something I read in a mag this summer, and I never did hear any more about it. Did anyone get a copy of the final rule or was it quashed?
Truthfully, I thought this was something we were all already doing but I just wondered what happened to this proposed rule.

"FAA published a requirement that jet operators, even those operating under pt91, have a plan in place by Sept 1 2006 to ensure they can make a full stop landing on the runway in use in the conditions existing at the time of arrival. The policy requires a safety factor of 15% and induces the operator to recalculate landing distance enroute while the aircraft is underway. blah blah must find an alternate if etc etc any report of fair to poor must be interpreted as poor, all to do with the 737 incident at midway."

quote marks only to indicate what I can read or took time to type from this article clipping, not an actual verbatim quote.

Yep, aware of the rule. Our company ops manual precludes us from landing anything less than 5,000'. Usually that will cover us to remain compliant.
