A memo just came out that ASA will be Parking on A,B,C,D,E and 6 east. OH, and parking instructions have fun with this.

Hopefully this will take the incompetent ops guys out of the loop. They just give up during IROPS, no leadership or plans in place to deal with it.

This will be awesome,.. Now mainline will suffer loss of gate space when ASA is late. This will not last!

(everyday!!)

Those 30 minute turn times we do with swaps will go great when we go from E to A....whatever the ramp has been getting WORSE!!! plus fuel now is a JOKE!!! It will never change DL handling or not...

Did you catch the part about riding the people mover with the passengers when parking at the remote area? That should be fun. Let's see, due out for the next flight in 30 minutes and gotta ride the creeper to who knows where! Ah well, I'm hungary anyway.

Alright guys, give it up already. You complain about having to wait 30+ min to park, and now when they come out with a viable solution, you start complaining about that too. Pretty soon (if not already) all ASA pilots will be so jaded that nothing will appease them.

Glad to hear that you are having such a wonderful time...Here we are almost 5 years no contract, moral at an all time LOW, 18 year + guys leaving, extensions like crazy, no growth, bases closed and still no improvements anywhere. Tell how anyone could not be "jaded" around here. Yes people are NOT happy and rightly so.

C'mon, the number one requirement to work at ASA is a good sense of humor. Sometimes it's the only thing that helps me get by.

OK...now, I'm having visions of that scene in Airplane where the pilot drives right through the terminal while getting marshalled in. Except with our itty bitty RJs, we'll just end up on the other side of the terminal as we pass underneath.

The people mover thing actually works quite well. You park facing north on ramp 6. The people mover pulls up, pink tags get unloaded, and people get off and into the mover. A tug pulls up to move the plane. The crew gets on the people mover, with the pax. The people mover then delivers everyone into a jetway on E concourse.

I'd do that anyday, if it meant I didn't have to wait for 45 minutes for a gate somewhere else.

YKnot

I have a problem with these parking solutions. They diminish the 'experience" of flying on ASA. It's like going to Mardi Gra and not stepping in vomit.

DAL has already been doing this with about 4-6 pad ops in the evening.
