Dear Moderator,

Can we rename this board "Kick each other in the groin and act like children"?

Is it just me or is everyone tired of the negative trash on this "Interview" board. Grow up or get therapy.

If the pilots of the different airlines need to be separated, lets do it soon!!

Since the landscape has changed since this board has begun, and since the members have taken the board in another direction, it is apparant that the need for an "airline information board" has been filled with the "airline interview board."

I move to change the board to name to "airline information" rather than "airline interview."

I had proposed a while back to the webmaster to change the names as follows:

Change the name of the "Aviation Interview Board" to something like "Professional Aviation Board" or "Aviation Career Board"....

Hey John... Better re-read the names, neither board is called "Airline" anything... The Aviation interview Board contains 9 sections, only 2 of them deal directly with the Airlines.. the other 7 cover the other aspects of aviation.

While you're at it, how about adding either a Discount Carriers" or a Nationals" section, "Majors" and "Regionals" doesn't quite cover Airtran, Jet Blue, Midwest, etc.

old board/new board

If you remember back when we had the old board where all the posts were in order with no catigories/sections, one days posts would stream on for pages and it was hard to find a post/discussion you had posted on a day or two before. I think this is why they went to this format we have here today.

Also on thing about the old board was that most of the post were hiring info with a majority of that info being inteview gouge since back then you could swing a cat with out hitting an airline interview (haaa remember the good days). Then 911 and we have this as the board changed in what nov or so of 2001.

I agree that there may be a better way but for the most part the web guys here got it covered and anyway people will continue to post where ever they want reguardless of how many boards they put up.

My suggestions for new board titles:

The "RJDC Battle board."

The "Your crappy contract is destroying the profession" board

The "Why I deserve to make tons of cash and you don't" board

The "I can drink more company Kool-Aid than you can" board

The "PFT-bashing board" board

That is about right. Hence why I don't read much in the Majors or Regionals sections...

The "Regionals" forum has become a very hostile environment, to say the least.

Regionals board become hostile????

man no kidding....i'm in a position to decide what direction to go and choose anything at all...this is what ive gathered life is like in each category.

Regionals-you will always be poor. you will complain alot about your 'scope' and 'TA' and management and 'unions'. your company will always be close to bankrupt. you will be miserable. you will take it out on others and cut throats to get the next level.

Majors- you might not be so poor anymore, you will still complain about management and pay. but mostly sweating out the next furlough. in hopes you make the cut and are part of the starting lineup again....or until a job at SWA comes through.

Corporate-you have some money. youre not so poor. the only complaining you do is about a short notice flight or the people in the FBO that talk about hair gel and investments all the time. you worry about the company selling off its planes. and as a result your job on short notice. however, overall it feels more secure.

Cargo-you have some money. perhaps not so poor if youre in a jet. your complaining is about sleep. and you keep ruining shirts from engine oil. you might buy an FBO style chair to sleep in at home cause thats what youre used to. youre never seen in the day.

why subject myself to a Regional? why subject myself to a major? ill still be furloughed either way and poor. according to this group, corporate or 135 is the way to go now. you wont drive a porsche, but youll have enough to do what you want to do and live well. thats what ive found out so far. im glad theres people here that feel soo generous about their industry and show it in the most favorable light (cough cough-regional-cough cough)

That was the most succint explanation of the differing aspects of comercial aviation I have ever seen. I love it!!!

I browsed the Fractionals board the other day for the first time and could not believe my eyes. It made the RJDC arguement look mild.

What do you expect from a bunch of pilots?
