Suburban Air Freight & Lawsuit.

This is real interesting... I'm not sure if it's even the same company. It's interesting that lawyers don't regard professional pilots as a "Learned Profession", therefore they are not entitled to appropriate compensation under the U.S mail contract in this case.

Take a look

You're welcome. This industry is too hard not to help someone out. Everyone gets help from someone at sometime.

Badger:

It kills me that pilots are so sensitive about being called "professionals" that a ruling in their favor would be overlooked because it seems to disrespect them.

If you read the entire ruling you'd see that the company was the one wanting to label the pilots as "learned professionals" as defined under the Service Contract Act because then they could pay them whatever crap they wanted.

The "learned professional" clause is an exemption to the prevailing wage that the DOL requires everyone under the Sevice Contract Act to be paid.

The DOL doesn't determine appropriate wages for professionals, but anyone else (read pilots) must be paid the prevailing wage (read FedEx, UPS, et al...).

If it weren't for the USPS/FedEx/Postmaster General illegal sweetheart deal of 2001, and the USPS's penchant for delaying things in court ad infinitem, I'd be sitting pretty in the right seat of a 727 making a rough equivelant of a FedEx/UPS FO.

C'est la vie.

vossdr1, where do you find positions like the ones you posted? Just wondering. I'm looking for some in the Southeastern South Dakota area.
