The new new contract is still pending. The old new contract being have been retracted due to overwelming outrage among the pilots.

Still no interest by the mgt in having pilot representation during the rewrite.

Stay tuned for more, same Bat Channel, same Bat time!

Where are you getting your info from Man? Who said anything about a new new contract? As far as I can tell, it's not a rewrite, it's trash for the new contract and the "old" one is still in place. That's what everyone wanted, right?

You guys kill me.................

Read Dave's email carefully, if you can read?

What are you, one of those "trade school graduates" of Flight Safety or ComAir?

This is one of the more assinine posts I have read on this board.

What are YOU? So stupid that you would rather fight divisive battles with your fellow employees over "who learned to fly where"?

I learned to fly at a University. Does that make me better or worse than a Milspec pilot? How about a "Service Academy Grad"? How about an Engineer or an MBA who went to Comair . . . . or a "Riddle Rat"?

How about pulling your head out of your nether parts with a great big popping sound, and directing your anger where it belongs, instead of your fellow pilots?

All of ya just shut the fuk up about this contract. Yes, we got hosed but until something happens it wont change.

It amazes me how everyone thinks the JetBlue pilots "got hosed" with the new contract rates on the EMB190.

The marketplace has changed. The high salaries are gone. Look how the Legacy carriers are collapsing. No one seemed to mind when natural market forces pushed wages up, now when natural market forces are pushing wages down, the sky is falling.

Face it, people are only going to pay X level for an airline ticket, just like most of you will only pay $1.78 for your SpeedStick at Wal Mart.

This business has for ever changed. Now what we should try for as employees is profit sharing and higher 401K matches.

.
It's not that they WON'T, it's that they don't HAVE TO. The difference of $10-$20 a ticket is the difference between profit and loss for most of the majors. Passengers can save $10 off the backs of us pilots.

Why not ask for and average of $136,000 dollars from the Delta pilots, so the 10 million passengers who bought tickets last month can save $10. We are absolutley our own worst enemy.

BAM!!!!!!!

90 seat airplane, 1.5 hour stage length, 60 seats filled

A. Captain 110/hour
FO 60/hour

=$4.25 per customer

B. Captain 90/hour
FO 50/hour

=$3.50 per customer

NYRANGERS is right. Captain (A) makes 20k per year more and customers only pay .75 per trip more. My job is to make money flying airplanes. Managements job is to figure out how to make a profit.

Good point. I guess we ought to say, though, that our job is to fly airplanes safely, but effectively and efficiently . . . . .

Don't bother, I'll do your job without profit sharing, pay for my training costs and settle for a credit union loan for my uniforms in lieu of a 401K. What you don't get is that there is a slow spriral forming for this profession and the engines are dead. Technology has leveled the playing field and companies don't have to be concerned with the years of experience previously sought before operating high performance aircraft.

People will galdly pay X-$10 for an airline ticket if offered. Your Wal Mart analogy is good. Wait until Wal Mart sees potential and gets into the airline business. The only reason your speedstick is still $1.78 is because Target hasn't figured out how to sell them for a $1.58 yet, but they will.

You have no idea what it really happening behind the scenes. You stay tuned and be prepared to eat your words.

A contract amongst whom?? I thought Jetblue didn't have a union.

SWAdude

Its one of those "If we write something up and put 'contract' on top of it maybe those stupid pilots will bite off on it." Bottom line is the company holds all the cards and pilot group is totally at mgt. control. When the axe drops, the heads will roll with no repercusions for the company.

One of these days these guys will wisen up and get some representation.

"Bottom line is the company holds all the cards and pilot group is totally at mgt. control."

And this differs from ??? Ask the UAIR guys, the UAL pilots, the DAL pilots, the AMR pilots. Ask the FDX pilots what Fred was going to do! Union allows a token seat when plans are made, but with little recourse these days. Sure, the pilots can threaten a strike, but that would almost assure the end, as it stands now.

If you actually believe that, then I got a nice bit of property for sale in FL, that you might be interested in!

And maybe one of these days you guys will worry more about the situation you are in instead of the one we are in. If you are happy there. Great. Everyone deserves the opportunity to work at a place they love to come to. If we are happy here. So be it. I for one am. Can't it just be that easy?

There is a huge difference between a contract and company imposed pay and work rules.

Personally it doesn't matter to me what one group chooses or not. I just find it curious that a work group calls something a contract when it clearly is not.

The pilots of Jetblue are not part of a union. That is your choice. I hope you never need one. Things are great for you guys. But as we all know this industry and profession can turn overnight. It does help to be organized.
