Why not go back to old format but with the last post on top and first post on the end
of the list.

I would argue that 95% of the highest use forums are of the vbulletine/ubb/infopop variety, using the present topdown format, which I like. But whatever.

you can have all that and more! just click on the words "User CP", then click on "edit options". scroll down to "thread display options". there you will see a drop down box that probably says in it: "linear - oldest first". click the box and select "linear - newest first". presto change-o! you got it!

also in this magic part of the forums, you can change a bunch of other things to suit your needs.
