Anyone use the new US Customs eAPIS site? Does the inspecting customs agent bring it up? How do you treat Birth Certificate document info vs Passport. Sounds like everyone will have to have Passports in a few years.

Did the whole C-402 135 out of FLL before going into the 170, very familiar with APIS. Where it said Passport/Visa on the link (old APIS form online) I just left it blank and under NUMBER, I typed in Birth Cert.

That was using nbaa.com APIS site.

I have a program that was made where it stores all of the pax apis information, pilots, departure/arrival cities. Made doing an APIS really easy with thr program than that nbaa website where you had to type EVERYTHING IN (took forever).

Customs just wanted to make sure the APIS WAS FILED. I always tripled checked my apis form and made sure all the info (passport numbers, birth dates, names, nationality) were correct. You do not have to put a birth cert # on the apis form, just birth cert under passengers name.

Stop flying to the bahamas June of '04 so Im sure it hasnt changed drastically but if you have any other questions, shoot me a PM

---------the new CBP eAPIS site won't let you do that. Birth Certificate is not an avilable selection. If you choose another selection it says its the wrong #.

--------------I understand this will not be available anymore once UN/EDIFACT is final.

---------Was it UN/EDIFACT compatible? Or did you cut and paste it onto the NBAA site? Yes it does take forever. Now you need a few more tidbits of info here and there, but the CBP site appears to be a little more user friendly once you are registered/enrolled/activated.

You do not have to put a birth cert # on the apis form, just birth cert under passengers name.
------------You mean on the General Declaration written form?

Were you scheduled or on-demand 135? How did you handle pax that would drag their feet getting all their their info to you. I'm freaking if I don't have it a few days before. haven't had any last minute pax changes yet. And if it happens when you are "in country" what do you do - try to find an internet connection for your laptop? I think they should allow you fax or call in any last minute corrections.
