Was flying into ATL today and heard something new that I haven't heard in the 4 years i've been based here as an ASA pilot. Maybe some of you Delta or AirTran guys can shed some light. We were on the Honie arival coming in and assigned 9R....we heard 2 Delta flights and 1 AirTran be told to fly the 8L transition procedure???? Huh? I've never heard that, is it something new? Company specific???

The Honie is an RNAV arrival. If you look at the arrival, it has a transition which goes to 8L, or at least to the North side of the airport.

Just lets you know that you have to reselect the arrival as well as the approach. It has a different RNAV downwind and speed restrictions.

:pimp:I think they should call it the "Me-so-HO-ney!" Arrival, but no one asked me, Mr. Airspace User, what I thought . . . . !
