I heard they were having problems getting financing for new airplanes (ERJ). Guess they haven't passed the sniff test. It will probebly be even harder for them to get financing now after the way the economy is.
I interviewed with them a few months ago in Tulsa. SWA-style interview at a hotel. They offered a job at $20 an hour. Their letter also stated, "If you are on active furlough status with another carrier, you must submit proof of resignation, from that carrier, to Great Plains Airlines." That was a "no-sale" for many of the furloughed pilots who interviewed with them. CEO said no training contract, but they expect a minimum of two years payback for their investment.
Local reviews from pax are good. You can't beat the convenience if you happen to be flying between Oklahoma and BNA, COS, or ABQ.
