Word is that the reason that job offer calls are taking so long is because they are waiting for a bid to close and be awarded so they know what their needs are. Can anyone at NetJets confirm this. And if it is the case, when does the current bid close? Just trying to guage when then next round of phone calls might be going out.

Thanks

I don't think the bid closing date has any impact on when they call. In the past, when they called you to offer you the job, they would tell you what airplane you were going fly (or offer you a choice if there were multiple aircraft available). As of a month or so ago, they just offer you a job and you get to pick the airplane during indoc.

I have to think puppy is on to something. Our group interviewed four weeks ago. The rejection letters arrived last week and the rest of us our still waiting to hear.

I think the time lag has more to do with getting the background check done. As previously mentioned, they aren't offering slots in a certain plane when they call you with a job offer. Just a slot in indoc with the plane slots being divided up then.

That's a new one. You guys are getting creative.

Keep the faith guys. I know how hard it is waiting for the call but it's well worth it. Not sure if the current bid is the reason for the delay but that bid closes NLT 28 May. Good luck to you guys! This place is better than advertised if that's possible!

Thanks for the info c5driver, hopefully we will all start hearing something this week then. By the way, I didn't make this stuff up, I'm certainly not that creative. That is the reason Derinda gave during the interview for the longer than usual wait times lately. The wait is definately getting hard but seeing as how I haven't gotten the letter yet, after almost five weeks I guess a couple more days won't kill me.

Isn't it true that getting a letter is bad because the job offer comes in the form of a phone call?

For those of you that have been waiting since your interviews, did you write an email to Derinda to inquire your status?

It is indeed true that the bad news comes in the form of a letter. The thing is that the letters for our interview group went out a week and a half ago. The assumption among those of us left that haven't recieved one is that we are now just waiting for the phone call. Therefore, we are all trying to figure out what the delay is.

Actually this is not creative, it's fact. Darinda stated this herself. I recommended someone that is in this group of candidates. I've been waiting to hear results along with everyone else.
To answer the original question of the thread. The latest bid closed the 21st and results have been posted for a couple days. I was hoping we would all hear a couple days after the result came out.

Hang in there.

FYI... If you write her an email, it's Derinda... just so you don't biff it up.

Also, I wouldn't imagine the bid would affect new hire pilot placement in the least. Reason: Hardly any F/Os bid other F/O positions at NetJets. The exception to this would be the large cabin options like the G200, DA2000, EaSY and the G-String. All of the other slots get filled by new hires...

The class dates are set... waiting to see who fills the bid really won't matter for most of the vacancies.

Actually I've seen more and more FO vacancies go toward pilots on property now versus a year ago, due to increasing upgrade times. This also includes the midsize cabin aircraft.

Don't write and ask about your status. The only thing you should email is a thank you letter. I have heard of people being turned down just for send an email.

As for indoc classes, there was 12 in my class and 20 in the class that started a week after us.

Mailing a thank you letter was always impotant.I'f you asked about your status it was always the kiss of death.I remember a couple years ago everyone got hired out of my interview class.
Good luck guys!

I don't know why waiting for the bid results would matter since they aren't assigning airplanes until people are already in indoc. You should know if you are hired well in advance of indoc.

I agree with you.

By the way, current FO's are starting to bid into fleets of all sizes. We've had two current FO's bid into the Encore+ in the past month or so. Certainly the larger planes are more popular, but guys (and gals) are bidding into many of the available fleets.

Derinda is telling people it is OK to call and ask about their status. I have a friend that interviewed last month and sent Derinda an email a few weeks later. She was told she was going to be extended a job offer in a month. Calling is not the kiss of death.

Yes, I interviewed May21-22 and no one that I know of from that day has gotten a call, e-mail or a letter as of yet.

Derinda, casually spoke to my group for a lengthy period of time as we waited for our interviews. She told us if we e-mailed her the follow Friday, ah emay have some information to give us on our interview status.

I have been waiting over 4 weeks, but I will not dare send another e-mail unless it stretches out a lot longer. Just because she said she gets over 100 e-mails per day. I would be hard to have to respond to every one and do all the other jobs she does.
