Got a quick questions for any N.J. guys out there. I have all the requirements for NetJets except the 250 hrs instrument time. I have about 220 hrs actual/simulated. Should I still send the application in with this total? My "totals" are about 4500 tt, 3000 Jet (embraer 145), 700 PIC turbine EMB145 & KingAir. I'm presently at a 121 carrier. Surely these requirements should outway the instrument time. Just want some feed back.

Thanks

I just cannot imagine how you can get 3000 hours of jet time and not have 300 hours of instrument. Or 4500 TT and not have 450 hours intrument.

If you're flying anything bigger than a C-172 at night, you've got to be flying ABOVE the cloud layer a bit. That's ALL actual as well.

Should I still send the application in with this total?

The short answer is NO. NJ will reject your application. There is a flight time matrix worksheet that you must fill out in the packet. At the bottom are two bold numbers, the 2500 total and the 250 instrument. Basically they did that so the screeners can glance at your sheet and immediately throw it out if it is not equal to or greater than the MINS. So NO. Get the time and then apply. Also, like these other guys are saying make sure you are logging it when you can.

Try to bend the hours any way you want but the minimums are the minimums.

You must have the required minimums.

Go fly piston charters in New England for a bit. Your IFR time will outnumber your total flying time, since you will be walking to/from the plane in the fog, snow, rain, haze, smoke etc.

Sharp as a tack in about 3 months.
