Either you are sick or you are not.

All the rest of this talk is just a smokescreen to obscure the fact that people are trying to minimize time worked and maximize dollars paid.

So much for an honest days work for an honest days pay.

I think that went out with their chest-thumping FamilyGuy. They all think they should get what they deserve ( I think NJW uses that term in each sentence ). When in fact, since they have all chosen the 'collective bargaining path', they actually will ONLY get what they can negotiate....it has NOTHING to do with what they deserve.

And that's true of any organized group. You get what you can negotiate...nothing more, nothing less...

Exactly!
That is the joy of a contract from the management side. We follow the rules...anything in the pilots favor turns into a costly precedent, anything in the companys favor turns into a grievance.

NotaNJApilot,

Are you serious about Management playing by the rules??????

Grievance Awards for September 2006---$13K

Grievance Awards August 2006----$19K

Grievance Awards so far for 2006----$650,000!!!!!!!!

I am averaging a grievance every tour for scheduling violations.....

I hope the Puzzle Palace conmtinues to "plays by the rules", the money looks real nice in my bank account.

You're stating the obvious there, UR... Rallying a group to stand up for what they deserve often takes consistent encouragement. It has everything to do with what they deserve. Prior to negotiating a group must research the going rate to determine where they fit in the scheme of things. I saw (literally) the research behind the NJ contract. NBAA figures were used because the frac wages were all too low. They also surveyed the NJ pilots. Once a determination was made on what the pilots deserved they were able to set their bargaining goals accordingly. You don't go to the bargaining table without a plan....that should be obvious, too....;)
