Quick Question?? I recently applied to netjets. Two weeks ago I received an e-mail from Derinda telling me my application was accepted and I was in the selection process. How long is the wait for the interview and having almost 5000 hrs with 3000 turbine/ 1250 pic turbine/3 internal letters of rec will that make a difference to my wait. I appreciate any replys. Thank you for any info.

It varies, but when I applied about this time last year, it took 7 months before I got an interview call. If you indicate you'll accept any of their five domiciles (LAX, TEB, PBI, DAL, CMH), it might speed things up. If that's the case, just e-mail her back and let her know that. I wanted PBI, and they didn't hire anybody into that base for a number of months. If I'd been willing to move to LA (not a chance), I could have interviewed months earlier.

I thought you could choose any of those cities to live in. Do they assign you a base and then you bid for the one you want just like in ther airlines?

You do specify which domicile or domiciles you are willing to accept as part of the application process. When interviewed and offered a job, you'll be offered a position in the city (cities) you indicated was your preference. After being hired, if you wish to move, you would then bid to change domiciles or you could swap cities with someone else in your fleet/seat combination who lives in the domicile you want assuming that that person is willing to accept your domicile in the trade.

By the way, there are way too many 1900 refugees at NetJets. (Just kidding - I'm also an ex-1900 guy.)

I've heard it suggested that Derinda reads these boards but I don't know that for a fact.

As for getting the letters of recommendation in, what I've done for my friends is send them in along with their resume at the very beginning of the process. That way, the application package gets sent out right away. I think that when it is done that way, the letter of recommendation stays with the applicant's information, so there doesn't seem to be any need for more letters during the interview itself.
