Netjets company owned flight school?

A friend of mine applied for an F/A position at NetJets in hopes of getting his ratings through NetJets flight school??? My question is...do they even have a flight school? And if so do they allow non-employees to attend? I tried googling it but could not find much info on it.

The planes are parked outside the FlightSafety building at CMH. The dispatch room is actually in the FlightSafety building. From what I was told, it is only open to NetJets employees and their families. I didn't get in any of the planes, but they looked good on the outside and they share the regular NetJets-style N-numbering.

The rental and instructor rates were great and apparently the ground schools are free, except for the cost of books.

...I see...then again, I don't. From the unhappiness expressed by NetJets pilots on other threads, I don't see how the company can spend money on something like this "perk". I only know what I read about NJ that's posted by some of their own pilots.

If this outfit is truly a perk...and I were one of the disgruntled NJ pilots, I'd be seriously irked. Frankly, if what you say is correct, it looks sorta like a dumb airline management stunt. And that ain't too good, Bro.

3 C-172s Rs and S's I belview. And a 310 also used to move crews.

172's run $50/hr CFI is 15/hr
310 is $150/hr MEI is also 15/hr.

Tried to rent one day from there but it was too windy. The max X-wind component solo is 5kts. I have the same x-wind limitations as a student pilot.

Apparantly someone told them of my cross wind landing ability.

They do have a flt. school. The sole reason they have it is as a perk to employees. I was an intern there when they got them. I believe they got a pretty good deal from Cessna on them because of all the orders they make. If my memory serves me correctly the philosophy behind the idea was to give employees with no flt. experience exposure at a very discounted rate.

Let's see....you base your opinion on the posts of +/-20 pilots (out of 2000...less than 1%)??? Stop being so paranoid, everyone is not out to get you....or us.

Why should we be irked, or worried, or anything else? So what if some dispatcher/mechanic/Flight Attendant, etc wants to go get a PPL? Does an Air Force Sq get irked because there is a base flying club? Heck, if one of NJA pilots wants to rent a C172 for the weekend, we can.

Good grief, Man !! It was merely an opinion...a passing thought. "Paranoid" ? Well, that couldn't possibly be the case and nothing I said would indicate that. If NJA drops off the earth tomorrow, I'm totally unaffected. It was just an opinion...people express them here quite frequently whether they have a dog in the fight or not. You seem to be a bit touchy, though.

Having come from an industry and company where management misbehavior was a huge issue to the troops, seeing things like your company flying club just looked a bit unusual. 20 disgruntled NJA pilots out of 2000 posting here may not be a representative sample, but then again, maybe it is. There's no way to tell. And, as I said, I really don't care.

It was just an "opinion". It's a terrible shame it didn't jive with all who might have read it. Hang in there , Bro.

If you don't care then why did you post on this thread anyway? A guy made a post asking if we had an employee flight school and some of us answered him. You came on here making accusations of management impropriety. What's up with that? There's no hidden agenda, we have a couple of trainers and a few CFIs.

It's not a secret company transportation tool. It's not an ab initio training scam for the fractional fleet, and we aren't trying to take business away from UND, FSI, or ATP.

Well, Sir, most airline people have a "past" that makes them justifiably suspicious of management and their activities; nothing you need to concern yourself with. It will come out when you hear from airline people...just the way it is ( I hope you don't get your turn at this).

Why did I post on this thread ? I'll say it again...just expressing an opinion. If you don't like or agree with what was said, "so be it". It's so hard to please everyone...

I do want to warn you, however, I may express other opinions in the future with which you may not agree and truly hope it doesn't cause any further consternation.
