What is the policy on changing base? Is there a base-lock if you will?

Right now, yes. To switch to another of the five existing domiciles, there has to be a job posting for your specific aircraft and seat position in that base. You'll get first crack (in seniority order), then it goes to newhires. Otherwise, there has to be somebody in your aircraft and seat position willing to swap domiciles with you. (In short, it's very difficult to switch bases.)

If the TA passes, you'll be able to switch to any of the 100 crew bases on 30 days notice. No restrictions.

I'd imagine hiring will become one big stack as opposed to different ones based on domicile preference. (There's no real point in them hiring into a specific base when you can change it at-will.)

It's crazy, LAX - VNY 19 miles, LAX - SNA 36 miles, a central CA base would be nice but nothing the 300 miles between VNY and SCJ

The contract is not yet sighned and the complaining has already begun.

I didn't even think shiitsburgh was on the map anymore.

Plus they have a football team? Wow its kind of like Ohio having a football team. Nobody knows, and does anyone really care? :)

Under the new TA...if you are "based" somewhere that does not have airline service (i.e. BED, VNY, TEB) are there enough NetJets airplanes of all fleet types going in and out of these airports on a regular basis or should you expect to end up in a cab to/from BOS, BUR, or EWR regularly? If the TA passes, is there still going to be a large portion of pilots "grandfathered" into airports outside of the 100 listed?

Also - as far as your airline tickets - do you have to get your own, then get reimbursed, or is it all set up for you?

I'd expect a cab/limo more often than not. But those are high-volume enough locations that there's a possibility you could pick a plane up, I suppose. (That said, I've been at PBI since I was hired, and have never picked a plane up there.)

I haven't run the numbers yet, but I'm sure there will be a fair number, yes.

It's booked for us by our travel department, with the details sent to our Blackberries. (Same story with the hotels and rental cars.)

BLACKBERRIES!?!? WTF?!? That does it. I thought I wanted to work for NetJets, but if I wanted to carry one of those things around, I'd just stay in the military and take a staff job... Or try to make O-5.

Please, God, is there any other way? Can I just make a regular old-fashioned phone call?
