NetJets App. Question?

The section in the App Packet Labled Aircraft Ratings and Certifications. Small Print " Please enter the three aircraft, By type , in which you are rated on your certificate in which you are most CURRENT. The Last three aircraft Ive Flown are Seneca, SAAB, and EMB. My question is, I havent flown anything but the EMB for the last 4 years so would that be the only aircraft im CURRENT In?

Hi Syc!
Read it very closely. (RTFQ) They asked what you were MOST current in, not what you ARE current in. I'd list the three, leading with the one you are current in, then the other two in the order you were last current. Your EMB time will still probably be the deciding factor, but nice to show them what equipment you've been signed off on.

Enter three A/C that are on your certificate that you are most current. EMB first, SAAB second... It says by type. I would not include non-type A/C unless it asks for them. Just read the question. Don't over think it. I know you want to include all twin time to impress but it is more important to follow directions. When you make it to the interview you can elaborate.

I mad a list of all the significant larger twin time and had it ready if they wanted to know. No one asked about it. They'll look through your logbook and see how much time you have in each. They just want the prime highlights.

I forgot to look through my log book until after the interview. I am sure they saw my sheet with airline application logon names and passwords to the other airlines I had applied to. They didn't ask about it but I am sure they looked at it. I felt imbarassed at first but then realized everyone has apps at other airlines. You need to leave your options open in this industry, just in case. My point is, just be honest and real. Don't be fake or try to please them. They want decent people they can get along with for a week at a time, while doing the job well.

I would disagree with Captain Dad and list the latest three planes you've flown, whether or not they require a type rating. When I applied I only had a single SIC type on my certificate, so I added the next two recent aircraft types to that list as well. Of course, in the interview they asked me questions about some other plane I had flown, but they were fairly basic questions about that plane. Good luck with the app!

They were:
Falcon 20
C-172 (years ago)
Piper Arrow (years ago)

I am in the interview pool.

Don't worry about it too much. I haven't heard of anyone not getting an interview because of something on the application.

Actually, it has happened. Certain items disclosed on the application could cause someone not to get an interview. Think legal problems, accidents/incidents, etc.

However, I agree with you about doing your best and being yourself during the interview.

Well of course if you try to hide a DUI or something, but not for forgetting to tell them about your 172 time.

Just do your best and don't sweat it. If you get really stumped give Derinda or someone a call and ask. No big deal.

If it is something major and I didn't know what to do, they would want me to call and ask for help. Oops. I just gave away an interview question.

Most likely, unless something comes up during a background check. But if you're clean like you say, then I would think that you'll see an interview. Currently, the wait for an interview is partially driven by what domicile(s) you'll accept. But if IBB passes, that won't be an issue.

Nothing is 100%, but if they sent you a application, they want interview you.

Now, when and what the time frame is...who knows.

Interesting side note. I don't mean to make anyone paranoid, but a friend of mine decided to do his own background check prior to interviewing with another airline. He went to his states bureau of criminal investigations to get a copy of his record in person. I did the same, costs about $12. Anyway, he expected it to be clean but found it to include a Felony DUI and Bomb Threat. Due to his very common name and an intentional or unintentional screw up by the either the real criminal or court clerk transposing two digits in his SS#, the charges found there way into his file. It was cleared up but he had to go see a judge to get it done. The local clerk said about 1 in 25 records has some kind of error, if I remember the story right.

Just something you could look into if you are so inclined.
