Yeah but ours at Naples, at least, were reliable workhorses; they were fairly comfortable, had leather seats throughout and the EFIS cockpit as well. I'd take that airplane over the TC-12B (King Air) that I'm flying now any day of the week. But hey, for a Navy guy on the "sunset" tour, I'm just happy to be flying!
 
I hear ya about the "happy to be flying" part....but as a civilian, passenger carrying airplane....the SA-227 sucks!!!! Poor brakes, no tolerance for ice, very "interesting" stall characteristics and it needs water for take off on a hot day, especially to get 19 pax and loaded bags in the air. The interior was way to small for the passengers. Paying pax did not like the plane at all.....
