New to the Co. Just wondering the right way to handle drill weekends. Can't find any clarity in the contract with weekend duty. Post or PM please. Thanks

I'm still on the MPA gravy train, but based on discussions with my co-workers (non-NJA types) and mil types on these boards (NJA types)... the key is letting them know your schedule ahead of time. Plus, it helps if your unit has a flexible UTA policy. We only have 3 no-kidding mandatory UTAs per year. We are still required to do the other UTAs. However, if you miss the actual date of the UTA, you can come and fly with our sister unit, or just write the CP a training plan on you are going to keep current. Mandatories are the only ones that cannot be moved unless there is a "major life event". Very flexible overall.

Either way, they have to give you mil time. Just give them some notice to plan around your absence.

PS: Didn't I see you on AR62W? All you C17s types look the same.

Call the CRC and talk to them. There is nothing secret, they can help you out.

The Union website might be a better place to ask this question. There are several of us who are military and are the ones to ask. PM me if you need help signing onto the site.

Hey Fichman

Yeah, I PMed the dude the same thing.

Netjets is great regarding military.

I have posted and so have many others.

JoePa,

Semore is a good person to ask. He's been there. Done that.

The phone number and fax for the POC for Military Leave is in the FOM (I'll PM you). Although NetJets is great with MLOA, they do seem to be firm on getting a copy of your orders or a signed letter (faxed) prior to putting it on your schedule.

Welcome.
