I agree with you English, the moving around of the website made things very difficult both for our readers and ourselves.
Let me give you a little background on Will Fly For Food. I started the website with very little resources and had a very humble beginning. I came up with the idea of this website when my airline had declared bankruptcy and found most of my friends and myself had been furloughed and scrambling for a flying job. The initial intent of the website was to exchange interview information among my fellow furloughed crewmembers. The website was launched on some free web space offered by my ISP at the time, since FREE was an operative word after losing my job and income. Before I knew it I was receiving many e-mails filled with gouge and word about the website spread like wildfire. We quickly outgrew my small little ISP web space! Now in order to keep up with the information I had received we would need more storage and bandwidth. Some friends suggested a FREE web server that would offer the sufficient amount of space for our growing website. However, sometimes free can really get you in a bind. Many of these so called free web servers go out of business rather quickly, which makes it very difficult to keep everyone abreast of why the website would disappear overnight and where it would be tomorrow! We simply did not have the finances necessary at the time; after all I was now working for much less pay then my previous employment and for a long period had no income at all.
The whole process of developing and maintaining the website has had a big learning curve and riddled with ups, downs and curveballs. Between web hosting servers closing down on us without notice, we also contended with: unscrupulous persons that tried to copy our hard work and make it their own, people stealing our name, people that volunteered to help and then did nothing or lost our information and other websites that violated our copyrights and used our information or name to start their own websites.
Now over six years later and many lessons learned we are attempting to make Will Fly For Food the best website of its kind. I have since been acquired: a descent flying job, software that makes updating the website much easier and quicker, a good domain name (I think), a great web hosting company with a backup in case of the worst, some great help from people dedicated to the website and some good sponsors that help pay for the costs!
I’m happy to say that our new domain,
www.willflyforfood.cc is here to stay! It is our permanent address on the World Wide Web. There will be no more searching for us anymore! It is our sincere hope that everyone continues to support us by sending us their interview profiles and help us to provide a great resource for our fellow aviators as they progress in their careers!
Thank you for your past support and we look forward to your future support!
Best Wishes!
