Need info about Falcon Field, GA

I'm looking into a flight school there called Peachtree Flight Center and I'd like any information possible. I'd rather hear from students (past and present) if possible. I'm a Private Pilot with an instrument rating and am looking into pursuing at least thru Commercial Multi.

I've heard that they're a 141 school.....is that true?

Any feedback positive or negative would be great.

The School is run by one of the chief pilots at ASA. He will tell you that “his” school is the only way to get a job with ASA. He will also tell you how awesome he is, and that it’s your privilege just to be in his presence. He is truly a great pioneer in aviation; in fact God consulted him before creating the universe. Wow, what a cool guy.

I have thought about doing my training there as well. I have gotten checked out in their DA-20. They seem professional. The above poster is right. The owner is a senior Capt with ASA, and its funny because he told me those exact words about working for ASA. Its kind of pricy but overall, I had a good experience there.

I was mainly turned off by the price; $127/hour is just a bit steep. They act like they are one of the big flight academies. If I was going to pay that much I would just go to Flight Safety. That is more than twice per hour what I paid at the locale FBO, but I didn’t have the privilege of being around Dan W.

My experience at Peachtree Flight Center was very good. Last week I completed my MEI checkride. I was very prepared and had an excellent instructor for the rating. The aircraft used for flight training is mostly Diamond Products, along with Cessna 182RG, and Piper Seneca. While the Diamond 40 does cost approximately 127.00 an hour, the Diamond 20 is 85 and both can be less if purchased at block rates or even less if an entire program is used. Most of the aircraft are two years old or newer and are maintained very well. The owner of the flight school is a Captain at ASA and has assisted numerous of his former empolyees get hired on at places like Continental Express, ASA, Gulfstream, and numerous other airlines along with various branches of the military. Additionally, Peachtree Flight center is VA and 141 approved. I hope this answers the questions to the original post.

I train at PFC too and when "ifrcfi" showed me this thread, I had to chime in. Sure, Dan can help you get to the regionals, but I've never seen him hold it over anyone's head. In regards to the cost, I looked at Flight Safety and found that I could spend less money here and get more ME time in the process. The training I've gotten here has been nothing short of Pro and I've had no regrets. There isn't a flight school anywhere nearby with a more modern fleet of training aircraft and the prices are fair. I'd say at least look into it and try not to pay much heed to those who have personal issues with the owner.
