Any input is most appreciated - Thanks in advance.

Since the gauge shows people with less than mins getting hired:
Would a guy with 1200/250 (ATP written, gold seal CFI, 4yr deg) stand a good chance of getting a PSA interview in the next few weeks/months without internal LOR or would he be wiser to pony up the $500 it will cost to attend the aviationinterviews.com job fair to interview on the spot.

I'm really trying to avoid going another few hundred in debt for airfare that would be free if they offered the interview. I know beggars can't be choosers (with my low time & exp) but each extra $100 I spend is killer.

Perhaps the PSA interviews at the job fair are all filled up anyway? Perhaps some of you might know.

Thanks again.

You never know until you try but they will fly you to the interview, no need for air fare money. You are responsible for hotel though. I did not have a LOR nor did alot of other people. Unless it has changed LOR's are not really a big deal. Don't wait, see if you can get an interview asap. More people below you in seniority the better. Your quals seem to be competitive considering some of the new hires that have been around.

Good Luck!

Just start sending resumes out once a month like they are halloween candy. The worst thing that could happen is you don't hear anything from the recipients.

A few months ago I sat down, updated mine, and sent a bunch out. Ended up getting a job.

Send Resume And If No Response Follow Up By Attending Job Fair. Goodluck, Interveiw Calls Could Take 2 Weeks From Resume Submission

Hey need,

You need to put a resume in now with PSA. They are hiring like crazy and at my interview, their were a couple low time guys their; CFI's. One guy was like 1200 and 120. He felt good about the interview. They put those people into a pool until they get their 200 multi.

So with that said, go to their website, apply, fax, mail, do what ever you can to get it in.

I got called a week and half later for interview after emailing and faxing.

Good Luck,

Just a heads up on PSA.
They had a change in plans for the job fair.
They will be in attendance, but will NOT be interviewing on the spot.
Ken Sellers emailed me today 8/3/04 with the change.

PSA is cancelling flights a week out because..

of no crews.

J4J pilots are getting released in the next few months which will open more slots. If there isn't a new freeze on position to go to MDA. The 1 year contract is now 1 year nine months.

Send a resume every week. Call the PSA office and talk to whom ever does the interview selections.

Was there an explanation why there would be no interviews at the job fair?

In which cities have other pilots interviewed?

Thanks

There was no explanation in their change of plans. I simply got an email from them saying there had been a change and they would still be attending.

There will be not much new hire training for a couple of months while existing PSA Dornier Pilots get trained on the jet. There are too many new FO's currently awaiting IOE so there's no need to train more right now. I would imagine that's the reason for the stop interviews for now. It will only be temporary though.
