Personally, I always thought it was a mistake to bring an individual on board as leader of the NBAA who had absolutely no Corporate Aviation experience under her belt. She lived and breathed Airline air for all of her career. True, she did have many connections on the Hill, however how many of those connections really cared about the 91 & 135 departments out there, Longmuir's constituants?
This is not the type of individual I want in DC to represent my interests. She doesn't know what my interests are, she only knows what's important for United and the other 121 boys. And lets not forget that she brought in one of her friends to take on the newly created COO position. And she created the "executive office", consisting of herself, her new lacky and her admin. assistant! What kind of office is this? Sounds like a bunch of people to simply say yes to the president.
And let's not forget her telling her staffers that they were not to have any contact with any of the NBAA Board. Boy, she certainly is the great communicator. Lots of closed door meetings too.
It took the resignation of 2 HIGHLY respected staffers to finally wake up the Board that something was amiss there. Thankfully, she's gone, and the staffers have rescinded their resignations. Let's move on to what's important for Corporate Aviation, not United Airlines.
As far as I'm concerned, GOOD RIDDANCE!
