About two months ago National had something in the works to aquire 2 DC-10s (from Varig, I believe) and was looking for current and qualified crewmembers to man them. Since then that plan has fallen through. I'm not certain if it was availability of aircraft or for some other reason. Whatever the cause, they said, "thanks, but never mind" to those awaiting a call to interview for that job. It may be possible this was a temporary setback and the widebody planes are still on the back burner.
