#12 Ryan Newman
#17 Matt Kenseth

My all time Fav. is #2 Rusty Wallace, but he's getting old, but it would be nice to see him break the winless streak, and get one more win out before retirement.

I'm a Junior fan also, but I think its Jimmie Johnsons year to shine. Its going to be interesting how the new point system is going to shake down also!

Rusty's not that old, I hope he has alot more years. He ran real strong in alot of the races, I also hope his luck changes.

Mikey will do well, but Jimmy Johnsons team has been the most consistent over the last two years. I'm afraid that it's #48's year.

I'm rooting for Ricky Rudd, and Bill Elliot when he races.

I'm rooting for Ricky Rudd, too. I'm rooting for him to wind up driving for a small family-owned Craftsman Truck team with one chassis and two second-hand engines. I can't stand that guy.

I hope there's a few more wins left for Terry Labonte, though. He's a genuinely nice guy and gets little respect considering he's won two Championships.

Hey anybody that comes up with the line about Harvick has some worth.

Rudd, "I couldn't understand what he was saying, you know he has that little yap-yap voice".

I'll join in rooting for Terry.

A little off topic, but does any one if Bobby Labonte ever became a pilot? He bought the Baron I used to fly, just wondering if he still has it.

Never heard anything about Bobby being a pilot. All I have heard mentioned is Rusty Wallace and Awesome Bill. I'm sure there are others though. It would be interesting to see a segment on NASCAR drivers who fly, and what they fly.

Jimmy Johnson, enough said...that boy can drive a car...he always drives well at the "super speedways" and could possibly be the best restictor plate racer second only to dale sr. johnson's winnings totaled slightly over 5.5 mil last year, and he finished the season strong. in the last three races, he went 2, 2, 3 respectively. in 36 starts, he had 14 top 5's and 20 top 10's. jimmy also has possibly the best crew cheif in NASCAR in chad knaus. johnson only won three races last year and i believe that was due to an "off" year. look for jimmy johnson to come on strong in 2004.

i still can't get over the NEXTELL...what kind of name is that for an all star race? at least the WINSTON sounded cool.

What about the new points system? Since we cannot do polls, might as well talk about it here. I for one think that its a huge change, but I'm curious to see how team sponsers will provide sponsership... will it be a 26 race deal, with a possible extension to 36 if they're top ten? Who knows... But maybe this will change to a "need to win" attitude and not "consistancy wins."

I believe the new aero and tire rules will have some of the old veterens shining this year, Rusty, Terry and Mark will have a good year...as well as Rudd, I believe. It's a shame Dale Earnhardt is no longer with us, I think the new rules would have been right down his ally.

Being a longtime Elliot fan I am in the midst of finding a new personal full time driver, I like Newman's icy style and McMurry's exuberance but I'll most certainly pull for the old man whenever he drives...which may be as little as 3 races I am hearing.

Look for the Fords (Yates) to be more competative also, imo.

The only problem I see is some 'creative' team driving whenever it comes down to nearing the end of the first 26 race sweep. It will certainly bring racing and excitement into the last half of the season.
It's gonna be interesting, that's for sure.

I think with the new points system, your going to see lots of conservative laps being turned up until the end of the season, then guys going for the win. Really, the only guys that have a shot at the cup are in the top ten anyways, its just going to close up the gap in point difference. I wonder how one of these "new points" wins will be viewed in comparison to a winston cup victory? Seems the drivers are pretty spit on the subject.

my one question is this, how will the "new points system" affect my fantasy league? before it was easy to keep track of durring the races so i could tell exactly where i stood as far as total points...i think this new system will be exciting for the fans, but hard to adapt to at first...

For anyone interested in a really cool NASCAR fantasy league, I've been envolved in this one for several years, and really like how its run. Only 1 dollar a race to enter, total of 36 bucks. All money gets paid back out. Check it out at

Yup,

Sure will be interesting this season. I'm pulling for Dale Jr. also. As far as driver/pilots go, those that I know of not mentioned are Ricky Rudd and no he doesn't fly the Falcon 10, my buddy flies it for him and he's also got a fairly new Baron.

Of course Jack Roush (owner not driver) and Mark Martin. The guy that does Mark's recurrency was my landlord a few years back, said he's a hell of a pilot. So okay, let's here y'alls predictions on bad blood playing a role in fines/suspentions/probation?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Harvick will at some point attempt to get even with Rudd. Busch/Spencer is a toss up and me thinks that Jeff Gordon will get into it with somebody, at least a verbal argument.....maybe with Tony Stewart????

Tony Stewart is going to lose his temper at some point...
Kurt Busch is trying to be the "Intimidator of the 21st century"
Rusty Wallace will break the streak and win a race (Bristol)
Little E will finish in the top ten, if not the 04 champ.
