I never thought I would start a thread, but here goes. What gives with all the name calling. I feel like I'm back in high school, and for me that was almost 20 years ago! The thread titled RFP Announced at DCI has more name calling in it than a Soprano's episode.
When I see things like:
The only thing I profoundly resent is those mo#$%^ers at CHQ getting more flying and aircraft instead of CMR
How many times have I seen you sh@ttaco morons screw up.
Yea, class act you got there...fu#king dipsh#ts!

In the words of a beaten brother, "can't we all just get along."
Don't you folks throwing mud realize you lose all cedibility when you start the insulting, and don't stick to the debate?!?!

out of work, out of money, and fed up!
oh yeah, if you're going to insult, I won't dignify it with an answer!

 :D

I agree with you. This used to be a great place to come and share information. Now, it's all about fighting, arguing and complaining.

welcome to the sandbox. Have a shovel... the sh!t gets thick.

It's pathetic for a bunch of individuals that claim to be so d@mned educated, professional and omnipotent.

yeah yeah, go on, insult me, I'm "just" an FA... You've already said it.

Doesn't matter what you are! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, fact remains, perception is everything! The "professional" image is tough enough to keep without the common folk reading this board and thinking what a bunch of babies pilots are!

Tourette's Syndrome???

I think many of these posters suffer from Tourette's Syndrome and don't realize it.

I agree though, I wish these $hit-eating son-of-a-bitch guys would just relax and have some fun Ba$tard, douch-bag, twat and be civil to one another numb-nuts, d!ckhead.

I had to borrow that from "What About Bob?" with Bill Murray.

:) :p :D

I'm SAILNG!!

There is only a small percentage of professional material left. It would be nice if they created a new forum section that had zero tolerance on unprofessional posts, with strict rules to encourage civility.

I think it's amazing when you read a few posts in the Regionals section, and all the crap that's thrown around there, and then read a few posts in the Majors or Corporate board. It's a night and day difference in professionalism - at least that's what I think. So what gives?

You'll notice that the majority of the name calling is done by a small percentage of people with WAY too much time on their hands enjoying the protection of hiding behind a username. I just hope the flying public NEVER reads any of this stuff.

You nailed it

It has to do with the age and maturity gained during the years it takes to gain sufficient experience to be considered by a major airline and/or a high prestige corporate flight department.

These kids in the regionals, for the most part, and with notable exceptions, have not had the time to learn how to act as professionals. A considerable percentage came right out of college into the right seat of an "airliner", and as such have yet to outgrow the college boy/frat house mentality and complete their emergence from puberty. I cite as examples the reference to MILF and the adolescent rebellion against wearing hats (because hats are not "cool" and rebellion is). These and myriad other indicators, both subtle and obvious, show there is a lot of growing up to do in this particular segment of the aviation world.

Just goes to show you that we are all a little on edge. Who knows when the next shoe will drop.

With some the pilot groups trying to undercut the others in the race for the bottom, it has to make many nervous of their future. Sure we all want to fly, but quality of life is a major issue.

With Mesa gunning for the 737's it will finally bring the MAJOR carriers in on the game that the regionals have been playing for years now.

These threads give pilots a place to vent their frustration and anger in a creative manner rather than in the crew room against one another. Most of it is fun to read, and some of it is rather informative, especially from General Lee and a few others.

As Jimmy Buffett said, "If I could just get it on paper, I might make some sense of it all".

my opinion

Its flightINFO....should be informative. Entirely to much naming calling, argueing, and my company is better than yours.. and no educating.. We should educate each other..not to mention the younger guys moving up to the regionals. Just my opinion..

Hats.......

Axel,

I don't like hats. In fact, I choose not to wear mine. I do think that they are cool, and that they give the uniform and the person wearing it a more "complete" look. However, I do not feel that it is important or necessary. Maybe when I lose a little more on top and I want something to keep the rain/sun off, I'll reconsider.

great... now I'm going to waste the entire rest of my afternoon before showtime trying to figure out how namecalling and bashing people who are just doing what they get paid to do is a "creative" outlet.

(Scratching head) O...kay?

Axel

I see that you are an airplane lover and watcher. Great, so am I.

Do you fly professionally as well?

If you do not, you may have a hard time understanding why pilots (most) would rather not wear a hat.

Hat's are optional at my place of work. I would guess that over 95% of us (appx. 4200 total) do not wear our hats. This includes mgt. pilots and check airmen.

Also, I did state that hats are "cool". They are just not practical or necessary.

Regards,

Juan

This clarifies your statement, thank you.

As you are one of the fortunate ones whose uniform holds the hat as optional, there is no adolescent "rebellion" in your decision to forgo the hat.

The rebellion, not the hat was the example to which I referred.

I for one agree with 737pylt. I don't post too much stuff but I gotta say that I am very disapointed with the way some guys carry themselves on these forums. It's a sad state of affairs in general. I think a lot of pilots at this level lack maturity and responsibility to a certain degree. I say this only to a small portion of the pilot community cause not everyone out there flying participates in these forums. But its this small portion of our community that gives pilots a bad rap in general with the flying public and our coworkers. I just wish some people would just grow up or if you don't have anything constructive to say then just don't say anything.

737pylt are you Delta Furlough?

regards
