NAFI and AOPA
Yes to both. I don't remember that well if I found job leads through NAFI, but I believe it had an insurance program and pubs that were valuable.
AOPA is a no-brainer. I joined it when I was a private pilot long before I considered aviation as a career. As time went on, I found the magazine to be less interesting. But, the available confidential advice about medicals and legal issues are worth way more than your annual dues, notwithstanding the breaks you can get on rental cars and the like. AOPA also has connections to aviation insurance providers. In addition, AOPA dues are tax-deductable.
I'd sign up for both.
