I am planning a trip down to ORF from beautiful MHT this summer, and I am looking for a place to stop for gas. I was poking around on AirNav, and found this airport:

N40, Pittstown, NJ. Looks like a decent airport, and gas seems cheap. Anyone flown in there before? How close is it to the NY class B, and how hard would it be getting there from the Northeast?

Thanks in advance.

One of my favorite places to stop. Nice FBO with great line guys, awesome pilot lounge, nice bathrooms, etc.

Also a great restaraunt, big runways, FSS on the field.

Most important - dirt cheap gas!!

I did some spin training there with Rich Stowell back in October. It was my first time there and it's a beautiful little airport. You're likely to see Cubs, Decathlons, and Stearmans there in greater numbers than 172s. The owners are Linda and Corky Castner, if I remember correctly. I had a chance to talk with Linda a great deal when I was there and she explained the history of the airport, which was owned by her father. They recently repaved and extended the main runway and added a PAPI if I'm not mistaken. I also believe the gas pump is self serve.

A larger airport that is close by is Allentown (ABE), which is a Class C. I personally would recommend paying a visit to Flying W, N14, which is outside of Philly. It's where I did my private and in my opinion one of the most beautiful airports around. There is a good restaurant next to the runway, a plane shaped pool, outside bar, motel, and a golf course nearby.

C150,

I stand corrected. That's what happens when you have several things going on at once. I would still go with N14.
