Anybody else get screwed by TAF"S and current reports calling for above minimums only to get to the destination and find 1200 RVR last night. What a pain in the butt.

I never got off the ground. Company had my pax and my crew sitting around for two hours waiting for better visibility before they realized we were not legal at that point to go. We cancelled, I went home.......

yep...how many 3585 it?

Oh yeah

yeah...I had to hold south of charlotte for like 40 minutes....then to eventually just go back home....what a waste...yeah...they weren't even calling for IFR....the taf's represented vfr outlooks if i'm not mistaken... anyone else holding over charlotte?

Oh yes, fun....

I was number 2 in line to depart PWM when the moderate freezing rain came along. The chemical sprayers couldn't keep up with it on the runway so they closed the whole field. By the time I taxied back to the FBO, my plane was coated in a nice sheet of ice with icicles hanging off everywhere. Ahhh, the good ol' Northeast.

So how about that US Express deicing fiasco in DCA. Two trucks running (as best as I could tell at least), no rhyme or reason to any kind of sequencing, and the poor guys in the booms couldn't spray it off fast enough. We closed our door at 2230 and didn't get in the air until about midnight. 14:36 duty day. Good times.
