Hi Everyone;

My wife wants to buy some advance tickets for May 24th on Myrtle Beach Air Direct from LCK to MYR returning on the 31st. Are they going to be around that long or should I just take my Bonanza?

Thanks for the help. Have a good evening.

Why not just take the Bonanza?????????????

Myr

Believe it or not the airline is actually less expensive for five people than fuel and hangar for the Bonanza. I'm with you though on the whole "my plane, my schedule" thing. I wouldn't even consider the airline except for non-stop cheap service. On a more macro note I wish the airlines would start charging at least what a seat costs them plus some profit. It would help the whole aviation job market if they could actually turn a profit....

Just my opinion....

That service is operated by Xtra Airways which used to be Casino Express. Things aren't very stable there so my advice is to not book anything in advance. those types of contracts seem to come and go all the time for that company.

Every few years somebody tries the MYR Jet Express deal. It usually last about 8 months.

I've seen multiple pax carriers try the market from LCK, ranging from one of the Pan Am iterations to Hooters Airways. Not one of them lasted any appreciable amount of time.

Take the Bonanza dude, way more fun.

Yep

Thanks you are right I didn't even consider the fun factor. That's what happens when you are married to an accountant...

I also read in the fine print they can stick you on a scheduled carrier at the last minute if they choose. I'm sure that's based on load factor and boy wouldn't that be fun...Multiple stops and different planes with the kids in tow..

You folks have sold me.. The Bonanza is 2.5 on the Tach but 3 minutes from my house. By the time I do the TSA shuffle I'll beat that 737 there anyway!

Thanks everyone.

Jim

Jim, forget the Bonanza. Take that Falcon, I am sure the boss would never even know it's missing, and on such a short flight you won't even have to buy any fuel.

Hmmm....

Great idea Cool Hand if I didn't like my job so much :)...

I don't know about the fun factor in that scenario but the excitement factor would be way up when they found one of the jets missing and sent the FBI looking for it!!
