Every time I go on a trip, I do every thing possible to make sure I (I) get home in one piece. If there are 50 people, 300 people, or a bunch of boxes, as long as I look out for my a$$, everybody else will be fine.
I don't know what to say next.
I've been in so many cockpits with guy's heads so far up thier a$$es. No checklist. No briefing. No 10-7 chart with runway diagrams on it. Basically just f#$%^&g around. I've been in the back of a plane on a deadhead with a runway incursion. Basically get your head out of your a$$es. Do not rely on ATC to keep you out of trouble. I am disgusted.

I thought it was a 10-9 chart. Not that it really matters. Anyway, just make sure it's all about you and you should be just fine. Right?!.

10-7, 10-9, whatever it takes. The high life has influenced the typing. And yes, if I get home, so will everybody else.

Feel better having gotten that off your chest, big guy?

Wow - am I nuts? I agree with Pissa.

It is your ticket, your career, your schedule and if the airplane crashes, you are the first on the scene. Yes, if saving your own butt helps you to justify your actions, fine.

Lets face it, the paychecks we earn, the memos we recieve with threats to replace us and our working conditions do not encourage us to do it for the Company. Find your motivation where ever you can.

It's funny that capyains do this while FO's talk about it. Don't worry sparky, you'll have that 4th stripe soon enough.

I find it funny that he called it a 10-7. You'd think if you had it out every flight, and after all those brown envelopes, you'd know what number it is.

How unprofessional! It's a 10-NINER chart. Especially important when the taxi is literally a 180* turn and roll 20 feet. Without a good, solid briefing on what to do when the nose gear subtends an arc GREATER than, say, 190 degrees and the inboard main slips a bit on wet concrete- we're toast.

10-4, good buddy?

Are you saying these guys didn't care about getting home alive? That alone will not save your butt. Have you heard the CVR? You must have had to, to insinuate that there was no briefing, no checklist. Sorry I know you are perfect and I was wrong to think that you make mistakes, like the rest of us.
