Great. If you paid for them you will lose money when it falls through.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Q: At least from the outside, it looks like Delta has done pretty well at lining up potential support on the unsecured creditors committee. (Delta has settled with its pilots union, Boeing and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp., all committee members.) Isn't that making your job harder?

A: If you accept the premise, yeah — which I don't. The committee has a fiduciary obligation to the creditors. They recognize as much as we do what's happened to the bond prices since our proposal came out, and they need to do what's best for the creditors of Delta, which is who they represent. I don't know what it means to be making progress with individual members of the committee, because the committee in itself represents all creditors.

Wsurf,

Thanks for that, even though it is in another thread. Again, it is just another bank offering USAir money, or lending them money. It does not mean it will go through at all. Check out this question and answer session with Parker:

So, Dalpa, one of the largest creditors on the committee, is supposed to vote for the others as well? Give me a break. Won't happen. So, Dalpa will have a concious and vote FOR USAir because some small creditor owed $10,000 wants his money now? Okay, riiiight. We have our own agenda, and so does Boeing and Pratt. They have the highest percentage of votes on the committee (they are owed the most), and at least 2 others out of the nine are pro-Delta---Coke and the PBGC. Very unlikely, and Parker admits that below:

Q: If the committee does finally come out and say we're not interested in your offer, does that kill it?

A: We'd have to reassess at that point. I don't know the answer to that and don't want to speculate.

You bet you will have to reassess.

Big Jet Envy? Noserider, that's rich; I expect more from you....

Mostly I'm tired of the Delta employees who on every occassion tell me all about the acquisition and why its a bad idea. Like I could call DP and say: "Call it off, the word on the street is that Betsy and Vince think its a bad idea."

"Keep Delta My Delta..." lamest catchphrase ever; I think your marketing department spent as much time on that one as I did on mine.

Well it really shows how low of an opinion pilots in this industry have of AWA. Dalpa guys would rather continue to work for a company that cut their pay in half and terminated their retirement plans than be acquired by a redneck airline from out west! interesting stuff.....

Man, this is getting good- Sorta' like sitting back and watching the Piedmont VS. Delta Feud all over again..........

I personally love the sticker, Grog!

Too bad the supermen at Delta don't see the humor. ;) TC

P.S.--I never realized Delta had any "big jets" (the 1970's bumpersticker notwithstanding). Hummm.

Hey, I expected more from you than to try and flame the DL guys, but you seem to do it repeatedly. You started the thread! DALPA estimates 1000 pilot job loses at DL. That's all I need to hear. I'll be happy to walk before I see one DL pilot hit the street for this worthless plan.

Hey Parker promised not to cut any jobs!! You see working for parker is just like being at SWA except for the pay and schedule and we do a lot of redeyes.

That's great Doug. You still have to get past our DL friendly creditors on the committee, and then maybe the DOJ and Oberstar. See ya.

Borrowed the money and sent them COD come on GL, I spent nearly 35 minutes designing them.
Grog:
On AWA pay, that was probably a bad decision, but not totally unexpected from you!

My favorite part is the new heritage logo, nearly wet myself when I put that together.

737pylt and noserider and GL we all need to go drinking when this is over (you can buy).

Hey General, Say Oberstar again.
It sounds great with the lisp. Just wait until the General figures out how to post his creation on You Tube.

Hey General, Say Oberstar again.

Can't do that for you, but atleast you now know his name. You will hear about it again I am sure, and not just from me.....

I think someone has to send the General a box of STAPLES!!!

Delta has about 112 heavy jets. USAirways has roughly 20.
