OK, dumb title to this thread, but I had no idea what else to put.

The flight school I just got my multi commercial with has an Aztec that they do some charter work with. They do all their flying single pilot, but they have one customer who always wants two pilots, for whatever reason. Well, I got a call asking if I could come along on one of those trips. My CFI was PIC, and I was the 'co-pilot'. We did 6 legs, everywhere from Fishers Island to Philly to TEB, and I loved every second. I ran the radios, and helped out where I could. It was my first time into TEB, that was quite the experience. We left at 1800, with a line of weather coming it from the west, so it was a zoo. It ended up being a 11 hour day, ending with a race to the airport against a level 5 storm.

Anyway, sorry if I was rambling, and I'm sure this doesn't sound like much to some of you old salts, but I had the time of my life. I had been debating for a while if I really wanted to fly, and this helped me make up my mind.

Good for you. Congrats and don't forget, it's the journey not the destination.

That's what it's all about. Good luck with your flying.

Way to go!!!

I'm sure a few post from now some yahoo will start telling you that you can't be on those flights and that you can't log them and that........
You know what; f*ck 'em and enjoy.

Nothing to appologize about ground pounder...those memorable firsts and seconds are what make aviation a great place...even us jaded, cynical types still have fond memories of those.

Sounds like it was a good learning experience.

Cool

Groundpounder. Thanks for sharing that w/ us. Thats cool to hear. It made me remember back when I was trying to build up my experience and Multi time. I use to fly along in a Cessna 401. Keep it up.

ONE THOUGHT.

This was a 135 charter. You were right seat. You say you operated radios.

Im not kidding when I say the FAA calls this illegal.
If ever asked, you did nothing on live legs, you sat on your hands.

I have seen cert action taken on exactly what you are saying, and this was done at a Long Island airport.

Just know your answer (I didnt touch anything, not gear, not radios, nothing.) until you get a stupid little 135 SIC scheck in the airplane.

Not to spoil your fun, just watch yourself!!!
