So, you've worked all your life (well, I hope to have;)). It's retirement time. What better way to spend it than tooling around in this!

Mallards and Turbines!

I'll put my bid in, does anyone have an old F-106 Delta Dart lying around? Classy mach 2 lines. Genie optional.

Theres a guy somewhere around Arizona that has an Albatross all decked out as an rv, Complete with an STC that replaced the drop tanks(or hard points) with jet ski racks. Real slick setup. Would hate to pay the fuel bill for it though, still had the radials on it.

Saw it at the PHX air races somewhere in the mid 90's. No idea where it is nowadays.

Many years ago I ran into a Ohio corporate operator who had a Mallard in their fleet and used it on short trips. Talking to the pilot, he said the women in the company quickly learned never to wear dresses when on that plane (having to step from the ladder over the door sill and down in the cabin. Apparently, one was rather embarassed one day when she stepped down and her skirt went up.

They flew it quiet a bit but did only one water landing a year as a check. Winter operations were a pain as one pilot had to go out every hour or so and fire up the radials for 15 minutes or so to keep the oil viable.

My retirement "RV" could take me to the places I enjoy....beach, a mountain lake or any runway near where I wanted to be. Sure beats trolling down the interstate at 55mph in a bus!

Oh the dreams of dreamers! ;):D

Yup that could work for me - I too saw that jet ski pods I think it would require that but otherwise seems in fine shape...

Thats what you take to the islands with you! However, I'm pretty sure I'd have some tough explaining to do with my wife!

i was thinking along the lines of an amphibious (sp?) caravan STC'd with some aux. fuel tanks if it can be.......ahhhh island hopping in the south pacific, cant wait

I'm trying to save up for a bigger cardboard box to live in! :D

Ok, seriously, I want a late model Porsche 911. And I want to buy it in CA and drive it across country taking my time.TC

SWEET!!

An aircraft, yacht, RV, and ski/fishing boat all in one.

If the price is right, one might actually save money over buying each of the others..:D

Sign me up for when you take it out and need a skier.

Some guys at the local airport around the corner(Kdmw) have an albatross. They fly it over my house every now and then, and al I can think of is how much fun that would be to take fishing in the islands. It can't get much better than that.

But Dash, think of the upkeep and high maintenance something like that would run you. The Mallard would end up being cheap by comparison. That Mallard was a total hangar queen. I got to visit two real working amphibs last week in Dutch Harbor, PenAir has two Grumann goose (geese?) out there. That'd be a cool job.

You know what the difference between a city girl and country girl is? On windy day the country girl will hold down her skirt, the city girl holds down her hat.

Don't flame me for that one...Minnie Pearl told that joke on "Hee Haw". :D

Two summers ago I was invited to an airline pilot reunion and they have a big fly in at an airport in north western wisconsin...one of the planes was one of those Piaggio twin pusher jobs. It was neat to see one up close.
