I don't get how SWA is PFT...

Having the 737 type is just a prerequisite for starting.

How would this be different from a corporate opening where they require something like:
5000TT 1200 Turbine PIC Citation X Type Rating 500 in Citation X

So if you have to have the citation type, is that also PFT?

SWA Guy based on your ratings it looks like we might have worked at the same airlines in the past not too many had ATR's and EMB145's.

you idiot

All this whole discussion means is that he wants to be one of the "Pay for Training" Southwest Pilots.
Here we go again, SWA type requirement, Aviations Oldest Hangar Discussion #3, right below Pitch or Power and below Civ or Mil

I suppose when we all paid for IFR,COM,MEL certificates, in order to QUALIFY to be hired by XYZ company, that is not Pay for Training? How about the RN at the hospital. She was not born an RN. She went to (drum roll...)----------nursing school. Is that PFT

And before someone knocks the mil group who "didnt pay nothin" but "get all the jobs" don't think for one minute that pulling TDY's to the Sand Box, getting shot at, kidnapped, being a 25 year old "kid" but flying a machine capable of launching nuclear weapons, same kid being "on the pager" in case the county is attacked, etc, etc ad naeseum is not "paying your dues"

Do NOT for one minute think the mil guys have not paid dues

Later
