Try using a radio adapter and then listening over the ADF. . .If they can broadcast over AM.

I got some parts at radio shack but need to put a resistor in the input line as it pretty much drowns out the radio when I turn on the Mp3 player. It's a Y adapter with a mono adapter that it plugs into the Mp3 player. Whole thing cost about $6.

Of course, this is in the cessna as I wouldn't dream of doing this at work....

What a stupid thing to risk getting fired over.

Fired? Their is nothing that prohibits listening to music, out of sterile, in our operating manual. It is not specifically prohibited.;) I know, I know, but that's my argument and my ipod is stikin to it!

Seriously though, I see absoulutely no harm in it. Lighten up francis'!

Allegedly, one of our guys broadcast his moozik over the PA during boarding on accident. Got himself a ticket to the carpet- and a heckuva funny story. I think it was Iron Maiden or some other atrocious aural icepick buttrock, causing a pax to write a nastygram.

Try a lightspeed ANR headset. It has a built in amp that you can plug your MP3 directly into without any additional hardware. Awesome sound quality and a great headset in noisy cockpits. That is of course what I've heard from other people...I would never listen to music while flying. ;)

I would buy the lightspeed just for that reason if I wasn't in love with my sennheisers. They are sooooo comfortable!

That ps-engineering device somebody posted looks like it might actually be the trick, kinda expensive though.

Thanks.
