Music

Depends on the person. Id say Van Halen, ACDC, Poison, some Guns and Roses would do the trick. Hell if you played "Ride the Wind" by Poison or "Cant drive 55" by VH I might wanna do my private all over again. For a more toned down approach maybe Collective Soul would be good. SeeeeeeeeeeeeeYa!

I recall when the humming of the engine, slipstream and the smell of fresh air, sweat, oil and grease was enough......

Keep filling that bottomless void....

I've thought about bringing my laptop on board and playing flight sim on the long X-C. See if I couldn't beat myself. Could I count that as multi-engine? One on the plane and one on the computer.

But really... I can't wait until the G-1000 has a connector for my X-Box!

:D

If students need music to be motivated, they are flying for the wrong reasons. Just getting into an airplane, should be enough for them. I share the other guys concern - I'm starting to wonder about the next generation of pilots myself.

Do you still not get it?

I get what you're saying, just not why you posted it in the "Music to Fly by" thread. You and Airspeedsalive coud start a thread entitled "Stamps used to cost a nickel". There you could talk about how great airplane sounds used to be and how the next generation of pilots really worries you.

The initial thread was about what music is good to listen to while flying, not what Grandpa thinks of it.
