apologies if this topic has been discussed before... I have come across a couple of different opportunities to build multi time at different schools -- most advertise ~100hrs for 5k-6k -- this of course is splitting the time with another multi rated pilot either under the hood or acting as safety pilot. I think even schools like ATP and Ari-Ben promote this type of flying(?). My question is... how is this type of time viewed by future employers? Do they see this as someone who just paid for "PIC" multi time acting as safety pilot vs. getting a job flying twins, or giving MEI?

I plan on getting my CFI in the next few months, and will probably be able to build a substantial amount of single engine time within a year.. but multi instruction is rare, and those students typically go to the chief pilot anyway. Anyway, looking for perspectives on this way to build multi time.

Log it as PIC and put the other pilots name in the remarks. Do not state "safety Pilot", or anything else. You can answer any other questions if they ask you. You should be fine. Just don't put anything in your logs that stick out! Good luck on supporting our down the toilet airline industry
