At Approximately 520 Pm An Eruption Of Mount St. Helens Sent Up A
Large Ash Plume. Pilot Reports Estimate The Ash Plume At Around 30000
Feet.

The Winds Aloft Will Take The Ash Plume To The East And North Of
Mount St. Helens During The Next Several Hours. The Heaviest Amounts
Are Expected Fall In Skamania County...with Lighter Amounts In
Cowlitz County Through The Next Several Hours.

Breathing Volcanic Ash Can Be Dangerous To Many People...especially
Those With Respiratory Problems. Volcanic Ash Is Highly Abrasive And
Can Damage Air Breathing Devices.
