On weekends the Hyatt Place on 494 opposite the Delta Hangar can be had for about 50 bucks.

La Quinta off of Nicolette Ave. is pretty good. 48 dollars out the door and they know the commuter situation. 952-881-7311. Hope that helps.

The La Quinta is where all of us stay at Delta. I've stayed at worse you can consistently get a room and the staff is nice.

I was on short call here some months ago. I checked in then got a trip two hours later. They didn't charge me anything for the room.

Does the Thunderbird give a crew rate? I've never run into anyone who's stayed there. It is a classic in Bloomington.

Wish I could help you out but it has been a long time since I used the T-bird.
You are right, it was a classic. The place definitely had character. What type? I can't say, but I had some good times there. Best of luck in your search.

None of those places can compare with "THE THUNDERBIRD"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spent many a night there - it's like the "hotel of the future" would have looked in the 1960's!

Now it's called the Ramada Mall of America.
