Mr. Steenland would like to offer his heart felt thanks to the Northwest pilots. Without them he would not of been able to receive his $26.6 million dollar bonus yesterday. Also Mr. Cohen says thanks for the $13.5 million. In honor of your sacrifice, Mr. Steenland will be naming the north wing of his estate the "ALPA center".

But, its pointed out that this is well below Deltas CEO..so the NWA guys got a heck of a deal!!!

I know you're insane, Mr. Rainey...but for some reason I look forward to these moments when you're lucid enough to merely be stupid.

They're options. Obscene, fetid, scumbag-worthy options...but options nontheless. That means mid-level drones like you are gonna need to figure out some solutions rickey-tick, or those options will lose significant value.

When you fail to figure them out (past performance indicates that is likely) you will lose your job, and they'll soak up the remainder of their options. Rest assured when you come over for your next visit to wheedle relief from us, we'll have the current value of those options in front of us.

You should be flattered to know I named my new pet goldfish "Rainey". He craps in his own bowl too...and has a similar future in store for him. Say "hi" to the Tidy Bowl man during your Exit Interview.

And this shocks nobody these days!!

Met a NW DC9 driver in the bar on layover last week. After listening to him for a half hour about how defeated and demoralized the NW pilots have become, I asked if he thinks pilots will eventually vote with their feet.

His response: "Look at the end of the day I love to fly airplanes and this job is STILL the best there is so why would we leave?"

And there you have it.

Man, my heart goes out to NWA employees, especially the pilots.

That Doug Steenland better have a nice personal protection plan written into his contract. He is a piece of _ _ _ _.

Isn't ironic that other than Richard Anderson, not one former CEO of this place is welcome as an upstanding member of the community he lives in? Sources in the MSP business community say that Steenland and Das and their ilk are nearly shunned at all kinds of lunches, meetings, openings, etc. Pathetic.

Best of luck to all the RedTailers. It is sickening to watch what these thieves have done to a once proud company. Unreal.

Heyas Wild,

Yea, RA was verging on a real, live human being. I think he saw the writing on the wall, and when the choice of being the #1 bad guy or leaving to be #3 somewhere else presented itself, he took the exit.

While it's tough to go from #1 to #3, the pile of bread he got from United Heath Care probably soothed that pain. That and being somewhat able to look at yourself in the mirror in the morning.

As it stands, though it was like Col. Potter went home and left Frank Burns in charge...

Instead of using Flightinfo to vent, why don't all of us go his house with bullhorns at 3AM night after night and not let these POS's live in peace. By day we all need to follow these scumbags wherever they go, repeaditly shout them down in public wherever they might be and make them pay by utter humiliation. Any and every method short of violence or threats of violence ought to be utilized until these SOB's are forced to move to Guatamala!!!

The bonus is tied to performance. Company does well -- Steenland does well.
What part of this don't you understand.

By the way -- the outrage should have been when the TA was voted on and accepted. Didn't see anything then.

Getting a bonus for the biggest staffing screw-up since ?? The leak in the dike is becoming a torrent, and it's not even summer yet. Training constraints limit staffing now even if they do get enough pilots back or start off the street hiring. Solution - park aircraft, blame ALPA, and declare victory while retreating. Rest assured the 2 Tim's will hang around at least long enough to collect their options before leaving to "spend more time with their family"

I hope the new BOD directs the EMT to be more interested in making money than raping and pillaging the rank and file....

A big fat bonus for leading the company into bankruptcy. That sounds like something to be real proud of. This should definitely be criminal activity!

It's one thing to make huge profits like Exxon Mobil, but a bonus for running the company into the ground? This is the worst possible corporate greed around. Please.
